Corporate E-mail Service
Corporate E- mail
connects corporate E-mail
server to the Internet with unlimited accounts within your network.
How does it work ?
-
If
you have or are planning to get an internal network and you wish to
connect some or all of the computers on it to the Internet then SAN
can help.
-
Connecting
each computer individually to the Internet using a modem often is an
unnecessary trouble and expense. Using an internal network you can
connect multiple computers to the Internet through a
"gateway"
-
Using
a gateway and a normal dial-up connection is a much cheaper solution
than using the digital leased lines which are your only other option.
-
Internal
e-mail servers reduce the time that your business is connected to the
Internet by storing e-mail locally and sending it in batches to a set
schedule. They also handle all "internal" e-mail without
connecting to the Internet. This can aid the development of an
"e-mail culture" within your company without the costs of
constant Internet connections.
-
The
Mail Server Software is
intended to run on a single workstation on your network, providing
mail services to the network's users via a unique dial up modem.
-
Your
users will normally run a compatible mail program, such as Eudora
Mail, to submit mail to and retrieve mail from the Mail Server
Software system via shared directories on a server volume somewhere on
your network.

System Requirements
- The
Mail Server Software is
not a demanding application; it will run on almost any system capable
of running either Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0, but for best
performance we recommend the following configuration:
- Your
LAN with Star
Twisted Pair Topology must be operational.
- Mail
Server – PC Pentium MMX or better running
under Windows 95 or Windows NT v4.0 or later (NT v3.5x and
earlier are not supported) Minimum 64 MB RAM recommended on the system
- A
properly-configured Windows Sockets Implementation for TCP/IP
communications - so SLIP
and PPP links are fine.
- 1MB
disk free space
- A
compatible mail client, such as Eudora or Outlook Express.
Corporate
SAN Dial
Top
of pages
-
SAN
Dial provides full
Internet access via a dial-up line for computer networks.
-
The
client receives space for addresses which can be used more effectively
if a registered domain, a mail server, a name server and a router are
available.
-
The
connection to the Internet is initiated on-demand by the computers in
the local network (LAN). This is the cheapest direct route to full IP
services since a direct connection to the host (like a leased line) is
not necessary
How does it work ?
-
With the appropriate
communication software and hardware, each time someone on your LAN
needs remote login, file transfer, e-mail or collecting news,
searching for information, your server or router sets up an IP
connection to one of SAN’s IP routers via a modem.
-
This is all transparent
to the end-user and makes your company network a part of the Internet.
We support different protocols like SLIP and PPP.
